Peanut Butter Blossoms
INGREDIENTS:- 48 Chocolate Kisses
- 1/2 c Shortening
- 3/4 c Creamy Peanut Butter
- 1/3 c Sugar
- 1/3 c Packed Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 1/2 c Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- Sugar -to roll balls in
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 375. Remove foil from Kisses.
- Beat shortening and peanut butter in bowl until well blended. Add sugar and brown sugar; beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; graduallly beat into peanut butter mixture.
- Shape dough into 1” balls. Roll in sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Immediately press a chocolate into center of each cookie; cookie will crack around edges. Remove from cookie sheet and place on wire rack to allow to cool completely.
