Peanut Butter Blossoms

INGREDIENTS:
  • 48 Chocolate Kisses
  • 1/2 c Shortening
  • 3/4 c Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1/3 c Sugar
  • 1/3 c Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Sugar -to roll balls in

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Preheat oven to 375. Remove foil from Kisses.
  2. Beat shortening and peanut butter in bowl until well blended. Add sugar and brown sugar; beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; graduallly beat into peanut butter mixture.
  3. Shape dough into 1” balls. Roll in sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  5. Immediately press a chocolate into center of each cookie; cookie will crack around edges. Remove from cookie sheet and place on wire rack to allow to cool completely.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
